Taking place on Saturday, 28 November 2026, the 10-hour event will feature German artist Jan Blomqvist and Austrian electronic music duo Klangkarussell, alongside South African artists THEMBA, Kabza De Small, Sun-El Musician, Julian Gomes, Jordan Arts, Indigo, Slow Poison, The Disco Matinee, Kyle Word, So Noir, John Lyra, Spiro and Lisa Jane.
The announcement follows last year's edition, which featured Lane 8 and Sultan + Shepard, continuing Còdigo Theatre's connection to internationally recognised names in melodic and progressive electronic music while bringing different strands of South Africa's electronic scene into the same space.
Jan Blomqvist and Klangkarussell Lead the International Lineup
Jan Blomqvist has established a distinctive place in electronic music through his combination of melodic production, emotive vocals and atmospheric soundscapes. His music often sits between melodic house and deeper electronic territory, bringing a live performance sensibility to music made for the dance floor.
Klangkarussell, the Austrian duo known for their melodic electronic sound, bring another dimension to the international billing. Their music blends atmospheric synths, driving rhythms and memorable melodic hooks, making them a recognisable name across the wider electronic music landscape.
Together, the two acts anchor an international lineup that spans different approaches to melodic and vocal-driven electronic music.
A Broad Showcase of South African Electronic Music
The local lineup brings together artists whose sounds reflect the breadth of South African dance music.
THEMBA has built an international profile through Afro-house and deep, rhythm-focused electronic sets, while Kabza De Small remains a central figure in amapiano. Sun-El Musician brings his signature blend of Afro-house, soulful melodies and South African vocal influences.
Julian Gomes represents the country's deep house tradition, with a sound rooted in groove, musical detail and soulful production. Jordan Arts adds another dimension to the bill, while Indigo, Slow Poison, The Disco Matinee, Kyle Word, So Noir, John Lyra, Spiro and Lisa Jane complete the announced local lineup.
The range of artists makes for a programme that moves across several corners of South African electronic and dance music, bringing different audiences and musical identities together for the day.
Beyond the Dance Floor
Còdigo Theatre is built around an immersive concept that combines music with theatrical performances, imagined spaces and unexpected encounters. Rather than presenting the event solely as a sequence of DJ sets, the organisers describe an environment in which audiences can explore different spaces and become part of the experience.
The emphasis is on creating an event where music, performance and production work together, with the atmosphere extending beyond the stage itself.
Whether audiences arrive for the melodic sounds of Jan Blomqvist and Klangkarussell or to experience the range of local artists on the bill, the Johannesburg edition brings together an international electronic music programme and a broad South African representation.
